Description

In this microcredential you will determine effective therapeutic relationship and communication techniques when engaging with patients/clients in order to build trust and rapport while maintaining healthy boundaries between patient and healthcare worker. The Therapeutic Communication, Relationships and Boundaries microcredential introduces learners to effective and meaningful communication techniques. The concepts learned in this microcredential will support learners in building therapeutic rapport, connection, and collaborative direction in mental health treatment. Learning is accessed through short, targeted lessons and peer interactions that focus on practicing relevant competencies and supported by an experienced skills coach. Developed in collaboration with Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences and Ontario Tech Talent, learners will practice the techniques to engage in various daily interactions with mental health service users to ensure active participation in their care.
